LIVONIA, Mich. - The Madonna University women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Taylor University (Ind.) on Wednesday from the Madonna Athletic Complex. The Crusaders fell to 3-2 overall on the season with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Taylor jumped on the Crusaders quickly with two first half goals. Libby Thomas scored the first one for the Trojans in the seventh minute thanks to an assist from Sarah Mullins. Later in the opening half, Brooke Cimini added insurance for Taylor in the 20th minute and gave the visitors a 2-0 halftime lead. 

In the second half, the Trojans scored the final goal of the contest in the 48th minute. Kiana Siefert sent a cross into the box that Chloe Sena was able to put home and cap the victory for Taylor. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Mackenzie Fifer made four saves in goal for Madonna, before being relieved by Veronica Kozak in the second half. 
• Kozak went on to make one save in her 45 minutes of action.
• Taylor outshot Madonna 15-11.
• Vitoria Sia had two shots on goal for the Crusaders.
