DUBUQUE, Iowa - In their third game in three days, the Madonna University men's lacrosse team closed out their Iowa trip with a 22-3 victory at Clarke University on Sunday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Madonna came out of the gates strong with two quick goals by Nick Conrad and Kyle Gudme. After a goal by the host Pride, the Crusaders added two more goals to close out the quarter, with one by Gudme and one by Shane Alexander. Madonna scored four more times in the second period as well, thanks to Conrad twice, Alexander, and Vince Floro. The Crusaders took an 8-3 lead into the halftime break. 

In the second half, Madonna put the game away by shutting out Clarke. The Crusaders scored eight times in the third quarter and added six more goals in the fourth. Adding to the statsheet with goals was Dylan Hicks, Nick Bryden, Logan Borysiak, and Zachary Lane. Madonna's strong offensive output and solid defensive play allowed them to cruise to victory. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Madonna was led by Conrad's six goals and four assists for 10 points.
• Alexander scored six goals as well and posted two assists for eight points.  
• Other multi-goal scorers included Hicks, Bryden, and Gudme.
• In net Jeff Varner got the start before being relieved by Aiden Haver, who made three saves in 45 minutes of action.
