FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Madonna University women's basketball team suffered a 82-43 road defeat to 13th ranked Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The host Warriors jumped on the Crusaders early, going on an 11-0 run before a jumper by Ashley Hill put Madonna on the scoreboard. Indiana Tech continued to put pressure on Madonna and had a 19-4 lead after one quarter. After Hill scored the opening basket of the second quarter, the Warriors responded with another 11-0 run before Marcela Rodriguez hit a jumper with 5:51 remaining in the half. Ultimately, Indiana Tech took a 42-10 lead into the halftime break. 

In the second half, Madonna showed some fight, staying with the hosts in the third period as they were outscored 23-18. The fourth quarter saw the Warriors outscore the Crusaders 17-15 on their way to the home victory. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Delani Robinson led all players with a career-high 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting. The freshman also hauled in six rebounds in 32 minutes of action off the bench for Madonna. 
• Hill scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds for the Crusaders. 
• Madonna was 17-of-59 from the field, 4-of-19 from three-point range, and 5-of-7 from the charity stripe. 
• Indiana Tech was led by Genevieve Decker with 19 points and eight rebounds.

Madonna returns to the Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena to host Cornerstone University at 5:30 p.m. It will be a part of the university's Pack the PAAAC night.
