Cross Country competes at Lansing Invitational

LANSING, Mich. - The Madonna University cross country teams competed in the Lansing Community College Invitational on Friday, September 30th from Grand Woods Park. The men finished third in the team standings with 101 points, while the women placed sixth with 181 points. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Lucas Eccleton led the way for the Crusaders in the men's 8k race, crossing the line in eighth place individually with a time of 26:13.8. Behind him was Cameron Kruse in 16th place with a time of 26:32.8. Sean Massa came home in 19th place in 26:40.1, while Alex Schlueter was 37th in 27:26.2. Completing the scoring for the men was Andrew Langkam in 47th place with a time of 27:44.1. 

In the women's 5k, Madonna was led by Rose Paoletti. She finished 18th individually with a time of 19:58.8. Whitney Ricks was next to cross the line in 35th place, crossing the line in 20:56.5. Izzie Lashaway was 43rd overall with a time of 21:17.1. Samantha Rousseau finished 65th in 22:55.8, while Elizabeth Dancey finished right behind in 66th place with a time of 22:58.3. 

UP NEXT:

The team will have nearly a month off before the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge Meet hosted by Aquinas College. The event will be held at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Saturday, October 22nd at 11:45 a.m.
