GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- The Madonna University Crusaders represented both the men's and women's cross country teams at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Mich., on October 25, 2025. The meet brought together 21 competitive teams from various schools.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the Men's 8K event, the Crusaders showcased impressive individual performances and teamwork, with the men's team finishing 6th overall. Mehdi Nait Hamoud led the team, finishing first with an outstanding time of 24:18, narrowly missing the school record. Mohamed Ensaad also delivered a top-notch performance, securing the 9th place with a time of 24:33. Additional contributions came from Yasser Soualah and
Rayane Bacha, who finished 32nd and 39th, respectively.
The women's team, competing in the 5K, placed 19th in a strong field.
Tyfane Martins was the top finisher for the women, coming in 50th place with a time of 18:56.
Izzie Lashaway and
Elizabeth Dancey also turned in solid times of 19:25 and 19:26, finishing 99th and 102nd, respectively.
UP NEXT:
Looking ahead, the Crusaders are set to compete in The WHAC Championships, which will be held in Adrian, Mich., on November 7, 2025. This event will provide another opportunity for both teams to demonstrate their skills and endurance against a lineup of talented runners.
