Crusaders Win Their 5th Straight

LIVONIA, Mich. The Madonna Crusaders men's soccer team delivered a big 5-0 shutout victory against the University of Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon at the Madonna Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders started off quick, scoring in the first 48 seconds of the game with a goal by Ryota Nakajima assisted by Jordy Lopez. Then in the 17th minute the Crusaders would strike again with a rocket of a goal by Jordy Lopez that was assisted by Issei Ito. The Crusaders would then score one more to end the first half from Wagner Gameiro on a penalty kick.   
In the second half, the Crusaders would get one more from Ryota Nakajima in the 65th minute for his second goal of the day to get the final score of 4-0. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Madonna would outshoot Michigan 22-6.
  • The Crusaders took 5 corner kicks while the Wolverines took two. 
  • It was Madonna's 5th straight victory. 
UP NEXT:
The Crusaders will be at home again on Wednesday, September 28th when they face Cleary University at the Madonna Athletic Complex. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
