Crusaders defeated by Eagles

STREAMWOOD, Ill. - The Madonna University football team dropped a 31-9 decision to Judson University on Saturday afternoon. The game was played at Streamwood High School in Streamwood, Illinois.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The game was a defensive battle until the host Eagles put together a 13 play, 99-yard drive to take a 7-0 lead with 2:29 left in the first quarter.

Judson extended their lead to 14-0 in the second quarter when their quarterback Christian Mille found Dakari Ferguson for a 46-yard touchdown catch. It would remain 14-0 heading into halftime.

In the third quarter, the Eagles capped off a 10 play drive with Mille's second touchdown pass of the game to extend their lead to 21-0.

Later in the quarter, an interception by Cortland Cochran set up a Josh DePaulis touchdown pass to Luke Pfromm and got the Crusaders on the scoreboard.

Madonna's defense later forced a safety to make the score 24-9, but the Eagles withstood any rally and earned the victory at home.
