RICHMOND, Ind. - The Madonna University volleyball team lost 3-2 to the University of Indiana-East on Friday evening. The Crusaders record is now 3-2 overall in 2022.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders came out hot by winning the first two sets 25-14 and 26-24. IU-East had a combined 20 errors through the first two sets. 

In the third set the Red Wolves responded by winning 25-15, and used the momentum to take set four 25-20. 

The deciding fifth set was back and forth as neither team led by more than three points. It was IU-East who came out on top however and escaped with the victory. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Molly Miller and Hannah Keenan had 17 kills each to lead Madonna.
• Reigning WHAC Setter of the Week Kacie Stoneburner posted 48 assists.
• Jamie Ciacico recorded 25 digs for the Crusaders.

Madonna will have its home opener against WHAC foe Rochester University on Wednesday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. from the Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena at the PAAAC.
