UPLAND, Ind.-- The Madonna University men's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, beating Taylor University (Ind.) 19-7. This improves their record to 1-2 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
The Crusaders jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter, with goals from
Casey Lyons and
Nick Bryden. Three additional goals resulted in a 5-3 Madonna halftime lead.
The Crusaders struck fire in the third, scoring five unanswered goals and only allowing one to have a 11-4 lead. The Crusaders added eight more goals in the fourth quarter to finish the game with a 19-7 win.
Jeff Varner and
Aiden Haver commanded the Blue and Gold in net, only allowing seven goals, recording 16 saves combined.
