UPLAND, Ind.-- The Madonna University men's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, beating Taylor University (Ind.) 19-7. This improves their record to 1-2 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED 
The Crusaders jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter, with goals from Casey Lyons and Nick Bryden. Three additional goals resulted in a 5-3 Madonna halftime lead.
The Crusaders struck fire in the third, scoring five unanswered goals and only allowing one to have a 11-4 lead. The Crusaders added eight more goals in the fourth quarter to finish the game with a 19-7 win.
Jeff Varner and Aiden Haver commanded the Blue and Gold in net, only allowing seven goals, recording 16 saves combined.

Ian Rush led Madonna's scoring with five goals, along with two assists
