ANDERSON, Ind. --The Madonna University's women's lacrosse team picked up their second win of the season over Anderson University (Ind.) on Tuesday evening, winning 13-11.

HOW IT HAPPENED

As the game started, the Crusaders allowed a goal just 45 seconds into the game, but was able to quickly rebound, with an Aria Gettel goal just 27 seconds later. The Crusaders would  follow up with two more goals by Lilly McKee and Arianna Rivera, to take a 3-1 lead.

After ending the first quarter tied 3-3, the Crusaders caught fire in the second quarter, scoring four unanswered goals, to go into halftime with an 8-4 lead. Three of the five Madonna goals in the quarter were scored by Brittney Leist, who would also add one each in the third and fourth quarters.

The Crusaders had a strong start to the fourth quarter, leading 13-8, a late charge was mounted by Anderson, scoring three goals in 1:31. The Crusaders were able to hold off the Ravens, however, and seal the win 13-11.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
 

• The Crusaders scored on over half of their shot attempts, recording 13 goals on 25 shots
• Arianna Rivera recorded three goals, and also added an assist
• Sophia Hadash tallied 11 saves in goal
• With five goals on Tuesday, Leist has reached her 100 career point mark

The Crusaders are back in action on Saturday, heading on the road to take Lake Forest College in Illinois, at Noon.
