LIVONIA, Mich.  -- Madonna University's Men's Basketball team was back home at the Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena Saturday to take on the Blue Devils of Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) and the Crusaders defeated them 79-57 for their seventh straight victory.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first half, Mark Mettie and Noah Campbell carried the load for the Crusaders offensively. Both combined for 22 out of the Crusaders 39 first half points. Madonna would continue their hot shooting by shooting 56% in the first and they knocked down seven triples as well. The Crusaders did however have some trouble taking care of the basketball with nine turnovers. However, that was not a factor as the Crusaders only allowed LTU to shoot 18% in the first half and take a 39-17 lead at the break.

In the second half, Mettie continued to show him dominance as he scored 12 more points. The Blue Devils did start to find a rhythm offensively shooting nearly 44% from the field. However, LTU couldn't stop the Crusaders on the other side of the ball. Ryan McMullen played a great half of basketball scoring nine points and grabbing four boards. Madonna would would end up with a 22 point lead and win this one 79-57
      
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
 

• Mettie would lead the Crusaders with 23 points, six rebounds, and two assists
• Campbell would have 13 points, two rebounds and three assists
• Brendan Young would have a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds
• McMullen would provide a huge spark off the bench and would have 10 points and eight rebounds

The Crusaders will be back in action Wednesday, February 9 when they take on the University of Northwestern Ohio at the Racer Gymnasium, tip-off will be at 7:30 p.m.
