Crusaders Drop Second in a Row

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.  -- Madonna University's Men's Basketball team was back in action Wednesday as they were on the road to face Cornerstone University (Mich.) at Mol Arena and the Crusaders fell 82-69.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Golden Eagles came out the gate lighting it up from behind the arch, as six out of their first seven field goals were triples. Despite that, the Crusaders only found themselves down nine and with a Matthew MacLellan three-point play and a Ryan Nunn triple, Madonna cut it to 22-19. After a couple of minutes of back and forth action, Cornerstone would go on a 23-7 run to close out the half to go up 51-29.

In the second half, the Crusaders would slowly chip away at Cornerstone's 22 point lead. Madonna came out of the half and knocked down their first three shots. At the 10:47 mark, the Crusaders would use an 11-0 run to cut Cornerstone's lead to 59-53. The closest Madonna would get would be five points but Cornerstone would put the Crusaders away and Madonna would fall 82-69.
