LIMA, Ohio. –  After a slow start to the match, Madonna was able to lead a great comeback and win three straight sets to close out the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Madonna got off to a slow start in the first set against the Racers, finding themselves down 21-11. After calling a timeout to regroup, Madonna almost came all the way back, going on an 8-1 run to make it a three point game. However, they couldn't come all the way back before UNOH was able to close out the first set 25-19.

The Crusaders found themselves down early again in the second set 14-4. However, this time the comeback was not too great to overcome. Madonna fought hard in a tight set but ultimately came out on top 28-26 to tie the match at 1-1.
After winning the second set, the Crusaders continued to build off of their momentum, easily winning the third set 25-19. UNOH fought hard in the fourth set, going back-and-fourth with Madonna point-for-point. The Crusaders were able to put the set away in the end 25-23 to win the match.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Tauri Hintz led the Crusaders with 14 kills and Kira Buza wasn't far behind with 12.
• Kacie Stoneburner had a stellar game, recording 40 assists, five blocks, nine digs, and one ace.
• Jamie Ciacico played great on defense, recording 24 digs.

UP NEXT

The Crusaders will return to Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena on Wednesday, November 9th, where they will host the No.5 seeded University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. in the first round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament.
