FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Madonna University 24th ranked men's soccer team came out with a huge upset victory against No. 19 Indiana Tech on the road Wednesday night. This win gives Madonna at least a share of the WHAC regular season title. With a win on Saturday at Lawrence Tech, that will give Madonna the outright title.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders came out with a beautiful performance in their 1-0 victory over a highly talented Indiana Tech team on the road. The first half went as expected with a lot of great defense and clean play from each team. It was early in the second half when Madonna would break the tie off the foot of Ryota Nakajima for his ninth goal of the year and would prove to be the biggest goal of the game as it gave the Crusaders the 1-0 victory. 

NAIA defensive player of the week Youssou Ouendeno proved exactly why he deserved the award. With his third shutout in the last three games, two being against ranked opponents (including tonight), Ouendeno had 10 saves on the night, matching his season high from two games ago. Although the Crusaders did not lead in many statistical categories they were still able to come out with the victory to secure at least a share of the WHAC regular season title.

Madonna will be on the road for their final regular season game against Lawrence Tech on Saturday, October 29th. Kick-off is set for 7:00 pm.
