Cross Country competes against top teams at NAIA Great Lakes Challenge

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Madonna University cross country program competed at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge Meet on Saturday from Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The men finished in 28th place with 696 team points, while the women were 11th with 287 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Leading the charge for the Crusaders in the women's 5k race was Rose Paoletti, who finished 15th place individually with a time of 19:50.20. Whitney Ricks was next to cross the line in 52nd place with a time of 20:47.50. In 64th was Izzie Lashaway with a time of 20:58.50, while Elizabeth Dancey was 68th in 21:03.20. Completing the scoring for Madonna was Samantha Rousseau in 133rd place with a time of 22:13.80. 

In the men's 8k race, Cameron Kruse led the way in 108th place with a time of 26:30.50. Right behind him was Lucas Eccleton in 113th place, crossing the line in 26:32.10. Alex Schlueter was next to finish for Madonna with a time of 26:51.80 and finishing in 147th place. Sean Massa ran a time of 27:43.80 and finished in 192nd place, while Andrew Langkam completed the scoring in 203rd with a time of 28:03.30.

UP NEXT:

Madonna has next weekend off and prepares for the WHAC Championship meet on Friday, November 4th in Sylvania, Ohio. The meet is scheduled to begin at noon.
