LIVONIA, Mich. - The Madonna University men's soccer team played Cornerstone University on Saturday afternoon which ended in a 3-0 win for the Crusaders which improves their record to 12-0-3 on the year. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders once again prove why they are atop of the WHAC after a 3-0 victory over Cornerstone this weekend. The Crusaders came out ready to play today and were very aggressive on the offensive end finding many opportunities in Golden Eagle territory. The Crusaders got their first goal towards the end of the first half in the 29th minute from Ryushin Hirami for his 3rd goal of the year off the assist from Andres Gomez. But Andres wasn't quite done sharing the love. He would get his second assist in the 53rd minute after a goal from Leonardo Abonizio that would put the Crusaders up 2-0. The Crusaders would wrap it up in the 86th minute after an unassisted goal from Jacob Tremonti, his first goal of the year. Cornerstone looked to break the shutout after a penalty in the box led to a penalty shot in the 88th minute but was turned away on a beautiful save by Youssou Ouendeno to put the cherry on top of the match with the Crusaders walking away with the 3-0 victory.

• Madonna had 11 corners to Cornerstone's 1.

Madonna will be on the road in a battle for the top of the WHAC rankings against No. 18 Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Wednesday, October 26th. Kick-off is set for 7:00 pm.
