SYLVANIA, Ohio-- The Madonna University Women's Basketball team traveled down to Ohio to take on the Gray Wolves of Lourdes University and the Crusaders fell short, 67-76.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the first, April Hudelson started out hot for Madonna scoring two of the first three baskets. However, the Crusaders offense stalled out for a moment in the first and Lourdes led 25-12 after one.

In the second, it was a completely different team than what we saw in the first. Madonna was playing great defense holding the Gray Wolves to nly nine points in the second. The Crusaders would go on a 10-0 run to cut the Gray Wolves lead to 27-22. The last five minutes of the half was a back and forth game, with just under two minutes Sarah Tanderys would knock down a three to make it 33-31. 

The second half was just as close as the first with the Gray Wolves lead fluctuating anywhere from 11 points to down to only one. Megan Aho was giving her best effort as she had 14 second half points on 6-8 shooting. The Crusaders shot 48.4% but it still wasn't enough as they fell 76-67

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 
 

• Hudelson led the Crusaders with 18 points, three rebounds and a block
• Aho finished with 16 points, three rebounds, five assists, and three steals
• Sharon Woodard scored eight points
• Naomi Davis had six points and six assists
• Paige Boden snagged 12 rebounds and also had three blocks

The Crusaders will be back home at the Alliance Catholic Credit Union on Monday, January 31 at 5 p.m. to take on Cornerstone University (Mich.)
