Crusaders' Hot Streak Continues with Fifth Straight Victory

SYLVANIA, Ohio  -- The Madonna University's Men's Basketball team traveled to Ohio to take on the Gray Wolves of Lourdes University who came into today winning 13 of their last 14 games and Madonna came away with a 79-69 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The entire first half it seemed as if the Crusaders couldn't miss yet again. Madonna would shoot nearly 60% from the field and 61.5% from three. The first ten minutes both teams were off to a slower start as Madonna found themselves up 16-13. Then out of nowhere, the Crusaders would go on a 17-3 run thanks to draining four threes in less than three minutes to take a 33-16 lead. Lourdes would be able to close the gap down to 13, however Madonna would score the final seven points to take a 45-25 lead at the break.

In the second half, the Crusaders would extend their biggest lead to 53-32 with 16:38 left. However, Lourdes would start to chip away at the Madonna lead, as they would go on an 11-0 run in just under two minutes to cut it to 53-43. The closest the Gray Wolves were able to get was 67-62, but down the stretch Madonna would make the winning plays necessary to secure the big road win and their fifth straight victory.
