Crusaders Dominate Knights with a 9-0 Win

LIVONIA, Mich.-- The Madonna University Women's Soccer team blanked Kentucky Christian University at home at the Madonna Athletic Complex 9-0 on Monday afternoon as the program has now scored 25-straight goals without an opposing team answering.

HOW IT HAPPENED

It did not take long for Megan Verant with the help from Sydnie Voss to find the back of the net at the 5:20 mark before Mary Philimona scored twice, first with an assist from Voss at 10:21 and then again by herself at the 15:00 spot for the 3-0 lead.

The Crusaders would go on to score two more times in the first half as Karina Arnold and Verant connected at 16:07 and a Holly McManus goal from Julieann White 1:24 before the half inflated the Madonna lead to 5-0 going into the break.

Once again the scoring didn't wait for Madonna as Victoria Sia sank her first goal of the season with a second assist from Verant to put Madonna up 6-0. Later, Grace Thomas broke through the Knight defense thanks to Abby Werthman put the Crusaders at a 7-0 advantage before Werthman scored one on her own at 74:41. It was White who claimed the ninth and final goal for Madonna at 82:02 for the win.
