Crusaders Drop Homecoming Game to Judson

LIVONIA, Mich.-- The Madonna University Football team fumbled a 41-14 loss to Judson University (Ill.) at home at Livonia Churchill High School on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Down 21-0 with 18 seconds left in the first half, a 13-yard pass to Shannon Allen from from Josh DePaulis gave the Crusaders seven points heading into half time. The Eagles then rattled off 20 more in the third quarter before Luke Pfromm tossed a rocket to Darien Maynarich for a quick score before the end of regulation.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
 
  • DePaulis was the team's leading passer going 19 of 32 for 210 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions
  • Once again, D'Vonta Garrett was the team's leading receiver with 92 yards in five receptions. Allen and Maynarich each grabbed one touchdown pass.
  • Mike Gaiera locked down the defense with 16 total tackles, 10 of which were solo with a sack of 11 yards and two tackles for loss of 13

UP NEXT

The Crusaders will be off next Saturday and will travel to University of Saint Francis (Ind.) in Fort Wayne, Indiana the next on Saturday, October 9 for a Noon kickoff.
