SOUTHFIELD, Mich.-- Madonna University's Volleyball team took a 3-0 victory on the road Wednesday night at Don Riddler Field House on the campus of Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lawrence Tech stuck with the Crusaders early on in the first set as Madonna took small bites of points through Molly Miller and Jodie Kelly's attacks for three to four point cushions. LTU took the lead away midway through the set before Jaeda Porter reinforced Madonna's lead, never looking back en route to the 25-19 set win.

A few Blue Devil errors and Kelly's kill gave the Crusaders the early edge in the second. Miller, Kelly, and Kacie Stoneburner then combined to keep Madonna one step ahead of LTU at all times up until the middle of the set where the Blue Devils, once again, snatched a tiny lead before Miller, Kelly, and Dawson reclaimed the 2-0 set lead.

DJ Sargent brought Madonna back to a 17-15 lead in the middle of the third as she, Kelly, and three-straight kills by Stoneburner gave Madonna the sweep of the team down the road.

• Madonna has not given up a set yet in the two WHAC games played
• Kelly (11), Miller (11), and Stoneburner (10) each had double-digit kill margins while Jordyn Dawson tallied 28 assists
• Miller held a team-high hitting percentage of .474, succeeding in 10 of her 19 total attacks

The Crusaders will start a three-game homestand on Friday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. as it'll host fellow WHAC foe Siena Heights University (Mich.) at the Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena.
