Box Score SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Madonna University volleyball team, 19th in the NAIA, earned their third win of the week and first in the last four meetings against Lawrence Technological University with a 3-1 victory on Sunday.

Playing inside the Don Ridler Field House where the Crusaders (7-3, 5-3 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference) had lost their last three matches, MU dropped set one 25-18, but bounced back to topple the Blue Devils (3-7, 3-7 WHAC) 25-23, 25-20, 25-13. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
Madonna led early in set one and as late as 14-13, but after tying the set at 17, the Blue Devils won eight of the final nine points for the win.

It was a different set two as the Blue and Gold jumped out to a 6-1 lead, but the home team battled back. The teams traded ties and leads until a Kacie Stoneburner kill broke a tie at 18. MU won 5-of-6 to take a 23-19 lead, but LTU answered with 4-of-5 to cut the lead to one, 24-23, but an attack error by the home team tied the match.

The Crusaders again jumped out to a large early lead, 8-1, but this time never trailed and won the final four points for the 25-20 win. Set four was much of the same as the Crusaders won seven of the first eight points and never looked back. Leading 12-20, MU put the match away with an 11-1 rally, which included eight consecutive points, for the 25-13 win.
