LIVONIA, Mich.-- Madonna University's Men's Soccer team continued Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play Saturday afternoon as they hosted Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) and came away with a thrilling 2-1 victory. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Crusaders' defense was tested early as the Blue Devils put the pressure on. Madonna would get an early opportunity as Ryota Nakajima was able to score at the 13:33 mark

The Blue Devils defense was able to keep the Crusaders offense in check as Madonna was only able to get off one other shot in the first half. 

In the second half, it was the same story, Blue Devils were staying on the attack. At the 47:02 mark the Blue Devils crossed it into the box and were able to get a head on the ball. Reigning WHAC Defensive Player of the Week, Youssou Ouendou, made an incredible save as he fully extended his body to get his hand on the ball. 

However, The Blue Devils would get the tying goal at the 71:06 mark.

This match would go down to the final minutes as at the 88:37 mark, Ali Basma crossed the ball into the box and the 5'7 freshman Andres Felipe Gomez rose up and headed the ball over the keeper to win 2-1.

The Crusaders will return to action this Wednesday October, 6 to host No.9 Indiana Tech at the Madonna Athletic Complex. Kickoff will be at 4:00 p.m.
