LOUISVILLE, Ky.-- On Saturday morning, the Madonna University Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed at the Live in Lou Classic at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park hosted by the University of Louisville. 

ON THE COURSE

Abbie Haupt was the first to cross the 5,000 kilometer race line of 491 runners in 41st with 19:09.7 while Kateri Mills was just behind in 19:15.1 for 50th-place. It was Erin Seibert in 73rd with a time of 19:36.2 as her teammate Katherine Haupt stopped her watch in 20:41.1 for 202nd. Rounding out Madonna's top five was Julia Mills for 225th-place and 20:50.3. 

Lucas Eccelton was the pacer for the Crusaders in the men's 8,000 kilometer race with 542 runners in 26:48.0 for the best time of the season in 163rd. Ryan Nicholson finished 219th with a time of 27:15.8 while Logan Evanchuk was 281st in 27:42.2. The final Crusaders to cross the line was Gavin Ray in 33:25.5. 

Madonna competed in the "Blue" race where the women placed 18th out of 55 with 550 points while the Crusaders' men's team had no team score with four runners. Grand Valley State University (Mich.) edged out Purdue University Fort Wayne for the win in the men's race while GVSU beat out Marshall University (W.V.) in the women's.

• Madonna fought with several teams across the NAIA and NCAA levels 
• Haupt once again led the way for Madonna in a season-best time 
• Eccelton too posted the best Madonna time all season for the men's 8K
