LIVONIA, Mich. - The Madonna University baseball team continued to dominate offensively in game one of the senior day doubleheader, winning 10-2 before dropping the nightcap by a score of 14-10 at Ilitch Ballpark. The Crusaders wrap up Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play with a record of 15-7 as they head into conference tournament play.

GAME ONE: MU 10, SHU 2

The Crusaders scored three runs in both the first and second inning thanks to a combined six hits, four walks and two hit by pitches

The Saints scratched across two runs over the following four innings before a four run bottom of the fifth extended the Crusaders lead to 10-2

An RBI single by Adrian Reed and a bases clearing double by Frankie Lucska accounted for the four runs
WHAT DO THE NUMBERS SAY?

MU outhit the Saints 13-9 and committed two errors while SHU committed just one

Eight Crusaders recorded a hit in the contest as Jerad Dokey (3), Lucska (3), and Noah Moore (2) all had multiple hits

Lucska and Thomas collected seven of the ten total RBI for the Blue and Gold

Daniel Gore was dominant on the mound, lasting seven innings and allowing just two earned runs on nine hits

Ray Richard took over in the eighth before handing the ball off to Joe Wozniak in the ninth as both pitchers recorded scoreless innings
GAME TWO: MU 10, SHU 14

MU once again opened the scoring in the first inning, as Nick Sykes and Thomas blasted back-to-back home runs over the left field wall for a 3-0 lead

Sykes stepped to the plate for his second at bat and once again hit a home run over the left field wall

The Saints scratched away in the third and fourth with five combined runs before an eight run explosion put SHU ahead 13-4

The Crusaders tried to mount a comeback in the ninth scoring four runs, but it was too little too late as they suffered the loss 14-10

Sykes paced the offense with a 4-for-5 day highlighted by two home runs and four RBI

Thomas also had a three-hit game that featured a home run and two runs scored

Six MU pitchers took to the mound as Greg Goodbred got the start and lasted 3.1 innings allowing five earned runs
