TUCSON, Ariz. - The Madonna University began their final day in Tucson in dominant fashion, defeating Dakota State University by a score of 8-2, but lost the nightcap to No. 25 Valley City State University on a 2-run walk-off home run.

Madonna scored in four of the six innings that they came to the plate, scoring one in the first, two in the third, four in the fourth and one in the fifth

Brooklyn Dolloff hit a 2-RBI single in the fourth before Becky Giacobbi followed suit with a 2-RBI double of her own, extending the MU lead out of reach for the Trojans

Ciera Jones lasted all seven innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out four

Seven Crusaders recorded a hit in the victory, highlighted by 2-for-3 days from Jordan Johnson, Amy Clegg and Giacobbi

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

MU scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to claim a 7-6 lead thanks to RBI doubles from Emma Sikina and Sarah Holton, while Montana Spears added an RBI single to give the Crusaders a 7-6 lead

Nine different Crusaders recorded hits in the contest, with Holton leading the charge as she finished 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI

The Trojans smacked a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to complete the comeback victory
