TUCSON, Ariz. - The Madonna University softball team split day six of the Tucson Invitational Games, falling to No. 24 University of Jamestown before defeating Mount Marty College by a score of 10-8.
Emma Sikina tallied a team high three hits on the day while Ciera Jones picked up another win and Alyssa Fessenden earned her first save of the season.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Madonna earned an early lead in the top of the first off a Kattie Popko solo home run

Two of the six runs scored by the Jimmies were earned as the Crusaders committed three errors in the loss

The Jimmies scored four runs in the fourth inning and two in the sixth off eight hits
WHAT DO THE NUMBERS SAY?

Madisen Henry pitched all six innings for the Blue and Gold, striking out four batters and walking just two

Sarah Holton, Halee Warren, Brooklyn Dolloff, Becky Giacobbi and Popko were the only Crusaders able to record a hit

MU tallied five hits and committed three errors while the Jimmies recorded eight hits and did not commit any errors

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Crusaders trailed 3-0 after the top of the first inning, scoring five runs in the bottom half, two in the fifth and three in the sixth to seal the victory

A bases clearing inside the park home run by Kerstyn Comerzan plated four of the five runs in the first inning

A 2-RBI single by Giacobbi in the sixth proved to be the game winning runs for the Crusaders
WHAT DO THE NUMBERS SAY?

The Crusaders and Lancers each recorded seven hits and five errors apiece

Sikina was the lone Crusader with a multi-hit game, finishing 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored

Holton and Giacobbi each tallied a pair of RBI in the contest

Jones lasted six innings allowing six hits, striking out four batters and walking just one
