ADRIAN, Mich. – For the first time in 27 regular season games, the top-ranked Madonna University men's lacrosse program suffered a regular-season loss as Siena Heights University scored the final three goals to seal a 14-11 win at O'Laughlin Stadium on Saturday night.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Saints led 6-4 at the half, but the teams were tied at 9 after three quarters
- Goals from Ian Rush, Harry Dyson (2), Scott Humes and Ryan Flaherty in the third quarter tied the game at 9
- Tyler Kilar found Rush 34 seconds into the fourth quarter for a 10-9 lead
- Vince Floro tied the game at 11 after a pair of Saints' goals, but the home team scored the final three goals
BY THE NUMBERS
- 56-32: The Crusaders outshot the Saints 56-32 in the contest, but put 21 on goal to Siena Heights' 18
- 21-11: The home team converted 21-of-26 clears while Madonna went 11-of-12 in the contest
- 20-9: The Blue and Gold, led by Zachary Beam, won 20-of-29 face-offs
- 4: Kilar led the Crusaders with four points on one goal and three assists
- 3: Three players, Floro (2 g, 1 a), Rush (2 g, 1 a) and Dyson (3 g), each tallied three points
