LIVONIA, Mich. - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners for the week of Feb. 18-24  and Madonna University's Cole Gingell and Tyler Dohmeier were named offensive and defensive men's lacrosse players of the week.

Gingell, a sophomore from Northville, helped the Crusaders to a perfect 2-0 record this week, breaking a pair of program records along the way. Gingell scored five goals and dished out 10 assists in the 31-6 victory over Point University (Ga.), breaking the program record for both points (and assists in a single game. He followed up his brilliant performance against Point with three goals and one assist against NAIA No. 7 Keiser University, propelling the Blue and Gold to a 10-7 victory. He finished the week with eight goals, 11 assists, and 22 shots, averaging four goals and just over five assists per game.

Dohmeier, a sophomore from Middleton, Wisconsin, earned defensive player of the week coming off two strong starts to his collegiate career as a goalie. Despite playing LSM last season for the Crusaders, he collected five saves in his first collegiate start against Point University, allowing just five goals in three quarters of work. He faced a much tougher test in NAIA No. 7 Keiser University, where he made 11 saves and helped the Crusaders to a 10-7 victory.

Both players are eligible for the NAIA Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week awards which will be announced later this week.

The Crusaders will return to the field on Friday, March 8 as they travel to Atchison, Kan. to face off with Benedictine College at 3:00 p.m.. Live coverage, if available, can be found at mucrusaders.com/live.
