FORT WAYNE, Ind.- On a chilly afternoon the Madonna Crusaders Men's Soccer team traveled down to Fort Wayne Indiana to take on the Warriors of Indiana Tech for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championship. In yet another close match for the Crusaders the match ended in another 1-0 final score, but the opposite of the way the previous games ended.

The Crusaders season record sits at 13-4-3 overall, while the Warriors win the title with a record of 16-4-1. The Crusaders did however earn the conference's second automatic bid into the NAIA Opening Rounds after finishing second in the tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The two teams were playing the possession game as they were battling back and forth as neither team was able to take control of the game.
• The second half started out much the same as neither team 
• With nine minutes remaining in the second half the Crusaders committed a foul in the box which gave the Warriors a penalty kick that Pep Casas was able to get past Crusader goalie Joe Smith. 
• The Blue and Gold push at the end of the game was not enough to tie the match up.

INSIDE THE BOX

• The Blue and Gold are now 23-9-4 all-time against the Warriors
• The Crusaders were outshot by the Warriors 9-5 over the course of the game and lost in the shot on goal 2-1
• The Blue and Gold tallied four corner kicks opposed to two for Indiana Tech
• Two Crusaders tallied a shot with Yuri Farkas Guglielmi pacing the Crusader offense with four shots and one shot on goal while Rodrigo Castro De Siqueira recording the only other shot

• The Crusaders will now look forward to the selection show on Monday, November 18 at 1 PM. With the NAIA Opening rounds on Friday and Saturday Nov. 22-23.
