LIVONIA, Mich.  -  The Madonna University men's soccer team traveled to Howell, Mich. to take on the Cougars of Cleary University. The Crusaders started the game slow but then got the lead and they were able to coast to a 3-0 victory over the Cougars.
With the win the Crusaders improve to 8-2-2 on the year and 4-1 in the WHAC while Cleary University falls to 5-5 overall and 3-3 in league play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Both teams had their chances to grab the lead in the first half but neither could get their shots past the goalies.
• The second half started out slow but then in the 65th minute Bruno Piva de Castro was able to score to get his third goal of the season
• In the 71st minute, Yuri Farkas Guglielmi got a ball from Issei Ito to score his fifth goal on the season.
• Shortly after in the 73rd minute Leonardo Gois Abonizio was able to get his second goal of the season past the keeper to make the final score 3-0.

INSIDE THE BOX

• The Crusaders are now 6-0-1 all-time against the Cougars
• Madonna put seven of their 18 shots on goal in the contest while the Warriors managed 13 shots with four on frame
• MU also had eight corner kicks to two for the away team
• Castro (four shots, one on goal), Breno Stapcinskas (three shots, two on goal) led the offense that saw ten total players rattle off a shot
• The shutout tonight was the sixth shutout for the Crusaders on the season

• The Blue and Gold will return to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 19 when they will travel to University of Michigan Dearborn for a  PM match.
