FORT WAYNE, Ind. – While a kill from Nyla Greer to go up 16-7 in the final set of a sweep over Shawnee State University (Ohio) may have seemed like just another point, it was anything but at the Liz Lykowski Memorial Classic hosted by Indiana Tech at the Schaefer Center on Friday afternoon. That kill marked the 4,000th career assist for senior setter Lauren Korth as she pushes towards the top-five in program history.
Korth finished the match with 38 assists and added 55 more in the nightcap as the Crusaders held on to best Taylor University (Ind.) in four, 3-1 to move to 18-6 on the season and bring Head Coach Jerry Abraham to within two games of 1,200 in his illustrious career.

-
It was a busy set two that featured 15 ties and six lead changes, but this time it was Taylor who scored five of the final six points to even the match at 1.
-
Eight times the teams tied in the third game with the last coming at 16. That's when the Crusaders flexed their muscles and closed the set on a 9-4 run. MU got kills from five different players in the run and a key service ace from Sweeney to go up 2-1
-
The Trojans raced out to a 4-1 lead in the final game and led for most of the set which included a 21-15 advantage, but the Crusaders finished the day with a flurry. Kills from Suurmeyer and Kelly followed by a Suurmeyer/Korth block and another Suurmeyer kill cut the deficit to two, 21-19.
