Lisa Erickson

Lisa Erickson joined the Madonna University Athletic Training department in January of 2017 and was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer, the first female to hold the title, in July of 2019.

As an assistant athletic trainer for the Crusaders, Lisa was primarily responsible for men’s soccer, softball and the men’s and women’s track and field teams. As the Head Athletic Trainer, she will primarily be working with the football program.  She is currently serving as the athletics liaison for the Civic Engagement Advisory Group and also helped coordinate National Athletic Training Month events. She also currently teaches a college transition course here at Madonna, and hopes to teach more in the future.


Lisa has previously worked as an Athletic Trainer at Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists in Jackson, Michigan, at Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa and at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado.  She also functioned as an Adjunct Professor at ASU, teaching in the Human Performance and Physical Education Department.  

Lisa earned a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Michigan State University in 2011, and spent time studying Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques at the National Taiwan Sports University in Guishan, Taoyuan, Taiwan.  She completed her Master's degree in Kinesiology at the University of Illinois in 2013, where she also served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer. Lisa has also earned her MBA, graduating from Ashford University in 2017.

Lisa and her husband, Eric, currently reside in Westland.Â
