- In his time with Howell, Pezzoni had a record of 197-43-3 in six seasons. The Highlanders were the state Division 1 runners-up in 2019, reached the state semifinals in 2018, and won five district and two regional championships.
As a Player:
- Played College Baseball at Eastern Kentucky University. Became a member of the All-Century Team.
- Was signed as an undrafted free agent to the Seattle Mariners minor league team (1990).
- Was traded to the San Francisco Giants minor league team in 1993.
- Overall, Pezzoni batted .273 BA /.333 OBP/.357 SLG with 480 hits and 88 stolen bases in 506 games.
Ron Pezzoni has established Madonna University as one of the premier programs in NAIA softball, building the Crusaders into a national powerhouse. Since becoming head coach during the 2022 season, Pezzoni has compiled an outstanding 220-45 (.830) career record through the 2026 season.
Under his leadership, Madonna has captured three Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) regular-season championships, two WHAC Tournament championships, five consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearances, two NAIA World Series appearances, and the program's first-ever NAIA Softball National Championship in 2026. The Crusaders finished the 2026 season with a remarkable 52-4 record, culminating in the national title and the most successful season in program history.
Pezzoni's teams are recognized for elite defense, disciplined fundamentals, aggressive baserunning, and a championship culture. His players have earned numerous NAIA and NFCA All-America honors, WHAC major awards, and NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition while Madonna has consistently ranked among the nation's top programs.
Prior to Madonna, Pezzoni transformed Howell High School into one of Michigan's premier softball programs, compiling a 197-43-3 record over six seasons. His teams advanced to the 2019 MHSAA Division I State Championship game, reached the state semifinals in 2018, and captured five district and two regional championships.
Pezzoni is also the founder of Turnin2 Michigan, one of the Midwest's premier fastpitch development organizations, helping hundreds of athletes earn opportunities to play collegiate softball.
A former standout baseball player at Eastern Kentucky University, Pezzoni was a three-time All-Conference selection and was later named to the program's All-Century Team. He signed with the Seattle Mariners in 1990 and spent six professional seasons in the Seattle Mariners and San Francisco Giants organizations, reaching the Double-A level.
Known for his passion for player development, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, Pezzoni continues to elevate Madonna University softball as one of the elite programs in the country. His overall record of 220-45 (.830) ranks among the best winning percentages in the NAIA during his tenure, highlighted by the 2026 NAIA National Championship and sustained national success.
