Joe Wrone enters his first season as the head coach of the Madonna University men's and women's bowling programs, bringing 12 years of high school coaching experience and a proven record of competitive success, leadership, and student-athlete development to the Crusaders.
Wrone joins Madonna after serving as a coach at Summit Academy North High School, where he established himself as a successful leader both on and off the lanes. Throughout his coaching career, Wrone has guided teams to five state championship appearances, captured the 2023 Regional Championship, and led his program to a Regional Runner-up finish in 2026. His teams also claimed the 2026 Bowl for Burns Tournament Championship, showcasing his ability to prepare athletes to compete at a high level.
Among his coaching accomplishments, Wrone is a two-time Coach of the Year and has guided his teams to five league championships. He also holds the highest winning percentage among all coaches in Summit Academy North High School history across all sports.
As he begins his collegiate coaching career at Madonna, Wrone is focused on building competitive men's and women's bowling programs while developing student-athletes who excel in competition, the classroom, and their communities. His vision for the Crusaders centers on fostering leadership, teamwork, discipline, and a culture of excellence while providing student-athletes with the foundation and experiences necessary to pursue success both during their collegiate careers and beyond.
