Rylie Glass opened the match with a service ace, and Madonna built separation in the first set when Gwen Clifford's kill and consecutive aces by Madelena Arriaga extended a 9-8 lead to 12-8. Hope Schriber and Vivian Campbell combined for the block that finished the 25-19 victory.

The Crusaders recovered from an 11-10 deficit in the second set, with a block by Schriber and Clifford starting a four-point run for a 14-11 advantage. Lawrence Tech later closed within 19-18, but Alyviah Wright and Clifford answered with a block to begin six consecutive Madonna points. Chloe Winchell's closing kill secured the 25-18 result and trimmed Madonna's match lead to 2-1.

Sydney Stonerock capped a five-point run with a kill for a 10-2 Madonna lead in the fourth set, and the Crusaders also led 11-3. The visitors took the next two points and eventually forced a fifth set, with Madonna service and attack errors supplying the final two points of the 25-21 finish.
