UPLAND, IND.-- The Madonna University Crusaders traveled to Upland, IN, to face off against Taylor (IN) coming away victorious with a 2-1 score on August 30, 2025. The Crusaders' relentless efforts paid off as they maintain their undefeated streak with a current record of 3-0-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The match opened with a promising start for Madonna as Hassan Alatooli struck his first goal of the season, giving Madonna an early lead just two minutes into the first half. The teams battled it out with Madonna maintaining dominance as the scoreboard read Madonna 1-0 by halftime. This early advantage set the tone for the rest of the encounter.

In the second half, Taylor (IN) fought back hard and would tie the game at 1-1 in the 53rd minute, but the Crusaders fortified their defense under the vigilant watch of goalie Afonso Henrique. Jonas Hoerner emerged as the hero of the day, netting the game-winning goal in the 56th minute, decisively securing the win for Madonna. Daniel Watkins also continued his outstanding start to the season picking up an assist on the Hoerner goal, highlighting a well-coordinated team effort.
