FORT WAYNE, Ind.- In a highly competitive conference game held on October 1, 2025, at Warrior Athletic Field in Fort Wayne, Ind., the Madonna University Men's Soccer team faced a tough battle against the Indiana Tech Warriors. Despite a sunny day conducive to play, the Crusaders found themselves trailing significantly by halftime.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The first half ended with Indiana Tech leading 4-0, putting immense pressure on Madonna. The goals for Indiana Tech were scored by Mark Mc Daid, Liam Arthur, Thomas Cole, and Genildo Postimo, with Postimo's shot ultimately proving to be the game-winning goal. The Madonna Crusaders, however, staged a remarkable comeback in the second half, with significant contributions from their players.
Jordy Lopez scored two goals for Madonna, one of which was assisted by
Alex Peytoureau, and
Ryushin Hirami added a crucial third goal, assisted by
Shadrack Omondi.
Despite Madonna's spirited fight-back, the game ended in a 4-3 victory for Indiana Tech. Madonna's first-half goalie,
Afonso Henrique, was replaced by
Alvaro Lopez in the second half, who helped stabilize the defense and prevent further goals. This event saw a key moment when
Jeshua Cubillos of Madonna received a red card, adding to the challenge for the Crusaders.
