LIVONIA, Mich. – The Madonna University Crusaders Women's Soccer Team took on the University of Concordia Cardinals (Mich) on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Although a slow start for the Crusaders; they managed to pick up the offense throughout the duration of the second half leading themselves to a commanding 5-0 win over the Cardinals.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Crusaders, coming off of a 1-1 tie against the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils this past Wednesday, were looking for a win when they took on the Cardinals. In the end, the Crusaders managed to put up five goals in 90 minutes of play. The scoring started when senior midfielder,
Caroline Kopp, scores on an assisted goal from Rhema Sango at the 8:59 minute mark. The Crusaders would end the half only notching one goal but would later tack on four more in the second half.
Senior forward,
Morgan Stack, gets the second half scoring underway by scoring a goal that was assisted by
Haley O'Farrell at the 50:35 minute mark. As just about ten minutes past, Victoria Sia would bury her first goal of the game at the 60:29 minute mark. It would only take Victoria about three minutes to find the back of the goal again with an assist from fellow senior
Morgan Stack. To round out the five-goal performance from the Crusaders sophomore,
Marlena Ballnik, would capitalize on the penalty kick giving the Crusaders their fifth and final goal of the game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
