DEARBORN, Mich. - The Madonna University women's soccer team traveled to the University of Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders came away with the 2-0 victory over the Wolverines, improving Madonna's record to 4-3-1 overall and 1-0 in the WHAC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Crusaders looked to come out strong offensively after going scoreless in their last three outings and were able to find that offense today. In the first half the Crusaders found the back of the net in the 30th minute off the foot of Holly McManus assisted by Mia Wolfbauer. The Crusaders were able to control much of the possession in the first half and held the Wolverines to only three shots in the first half.
The Crusaders would have eight shots in each half with 11 of the 16 shots being on net and because of that the Crusaders again found the back of the net from Rhinnanon Holmes in the 52nd minute assisted by Emma Seifert to give the Crusaders the 2-0 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Veronica Kozak finished with 5 saves on the day.
- The Crusaders would outshoot the Wolverines 16-11
- Vitoria Sia would contribute 3 shots with all 3 being on goal.
