FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Madonna University men's soccer fell against Indiana Tech in the WHAC semifinals on Wednesday evening. The 2-1 loss ends the Crusaders season with a final record of 11-5-4 overall and 6-3-3 in the WHAC, while the Warriors move on to the conference tournament championship game against Aquinas on Saturday. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Warriors came out quickly against the Crusaders in this semifinal matchup as they would score early on in the 7th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Warriors would then score again later in the first half at the 39th minute mark to take a 2-0 lead heading into halftime. 

In the second half the Crusaders still could not find an answer but saw plenty of opportunities as they would outshoot the Warriors 10-5 in the second half but it was not enough as the Warriors would deliver the final blow in the 70th minute to take a 3-0 victory over the Crusaders. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Each team would be even in shots at 14 a piece.
• Madonna had 8 corner kicks to Indiana Tech's 3. 
• Jaume Castells Mas had a goal and assist for the Warriors.
• Andres Gomez and Yan Brun would lead the Crusaders in shots with 3.

Crusaders will return to the pitch in August for their 2024 season.
