ADRIAN, Mich. - The Madonna University women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat on the road at Siena Heights University on Saturday. The loss drops the Crusaders record to 6-5-1 overall and 3-2 in the WHAC, while the Saints are now 8-0-4 overall and 4-0-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The host Saints came out attacking in the opening half, as they held a 7-1 shot advantage. Siena Heights finally broke the scoreless tie with five seconds remaining in the half, as Marissa Young scored her fifth goal of the season to make it 1-0.

Trailing 1-0 following the halftime break, Madonna did their best to find the equalizer. The Crusaders were unable to convert however, as Young added her second goal of the contest in the 81st minute to put the game out of reach. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• The final shot total was 11-2 in favor of Siena Heights. 
• Veronica Kozak made six saves for the Crusaders. 
• Molly Cote and Margie Troyke each recorded one shot for Madonna. 
• Caitlyn Harwood made two saves for the Saints.
