SYLVANIA, Ohio - After falling to No. 4 Aquinas on Saturday, the Madonna University women's soccer team was looking to bounce back on the road at Lourdes University. The Crusaders did just that, defeating the host Gray Wolves 3-1. Madonna is 6-4-1 overall and 3-1 in the WHAC, while Lourdes drops to 4-5-1 overall and 1-3 in conference play following the defeat. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Madonna jumped in front early, scoring the game's first goal in the 13th minute thanks to Morgan Stack. It was the only goal of the opening half, as the Crusaders took the 1-0 lead into the halftime break. Lourdes and Madonna combined for six total shots in the opening 45 minutes, with each team taking three. 

In the second half, Holly McManus made it 2-0 Madonna in the 48th minute with her fourth goal of the season. Rhiannon Holmes made it 3-0 Crusaders in the 67th minute with her second goal of the year. 54 seconds later, the host Gray Wolves got a goal back thanks to Laura Rincon, but it was too little, too late as Madonna came away with the road conference win. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Mackenzie Fifer made two saves in goal for Madonna. 
• The Crusaders outshot the Gray Wolves 10-7.
• McManus, Holmes, and Mia Wolfbauer each recorded two shots. 
• Madonna is now 10-0-1 in the all-time series with Lourdes.
