LIVONIA, Mich. – Madonna University's Men's Soccer Team program posted a 1-0 opening victory over Taylor University (Ind.) on Saturday night at the Madonna Athletic Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans were the ones who shot out of the gate early, getting a few shots in that were saved by Crusader goalie
Youssou Ouendeno to put a stop to the Trojan's offense early. It wasn't until the 70:46 mark that
Ramon Rocha found the back of the net with an assist by
Ryota Nakajima for a 1-0 lead.
Now down late in the second half, the Trojans did their best to put the pressure on the Crusader's defense. However, the Crusaders would hold strong as they wouldn't allow another shot on goal for the rest of the match. Madonna would walk away with a narrow 1-0 victory to start the 2022 campaign.
