LIVONIA, Mich. - The Madonna University women's soccer team rolled to a 6-0 victory over visiting Rochester University on Wednesday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Madonna got the scoring started early, as just three minutes in, Sydnie Voss made it 1-0 off an assist by Abby Werthman. Three minutes later, Olivia Brannon found the back of the net to make it 2-0 with the assist by Karina Arnold. In the 11th minute, the Crusaders went ahead 3-0 when Holly McManus joined the scoring party while Gabriella Sapia added the assist. Voss scored the final goal of the half and second of the game in the 15th minute, and the Crusaders cruised into halftime up 4-0.

McManus scored her second goal of the game in the 55th minute to make it 5-0, with the help of Kyla Fraser. Fraser scored a goal of her own in the 84th minute off the assist by Maya Spano. The Warriors struggled to get past midfield all game, and the Crusaders were able to ride the offensive shootout into the WHAC Semifinals. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Madonna outshot Rochester 23-4.
• Brooke Bruletti made two saves for the Crusaders. 
• It was the Crusaders largest margin of victory this season, as well as most goals scored in a game this year. 

UP NEXT:

Madonna hosts Lourdes University on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. in the WHAC Semifinals from the Madonna Athletic Complex. Lourdes defeated Lawrence Tech University 1-0 on Wednesday night to advance in the tournament.
