SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Madonna University women's soccer team posted a 3-3 draw against Lawrence Tech University in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders will be the number two seed in the upcoming WHAC Tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Holly McManus got the scoring started with a goal in the 19th minute to put the Crusaders up 1-0. That was the only goal of the first half.
The second half saw an offensive shootout. Karina Arnold extended Madonna's lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 59th minute, before the Blue Devils got one back in the 71st minute.
Leading 2-1,
Maya Spano quickly gave the Crusaders a 3-1 lead in the 82nd minute. 57 seconds later, Lawrence Tech was able to pull within one goal yet again, before scoring the final goal of the game in the 86th minute. The draw was the first of the season for Madonna.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- McManus scored her fifth goal of the season.
- The Crusaders outshot the Blue Devils 22-9.
- Arnold scored her second goal of the year, while Spano her first.

The Crusaders will host Rochester University (Mich.) in the WHAC Quarterfinals on Wednesday, November 2nd. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m. from the Madonna Athletic Complex.
