LIMA, Ohio - The Madonna University women's soccer program picked up a 2-0 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference victory over the University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The teams were deadlocked at 0-0 until Abby Werthman delivered the first goal of the game in the 23rd minute, putting the Crusaders up 1-0. Just three minutes later, Werthman struck again to make it 2-0. Madonna was able to hang on from there and earn the victory on the road.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• The Crusaders outshot the Racers 13-9, with the shots on goal being 9-2 in favor of Madonna. 
• Brooke Bruletti made two saves in net for Madonna.
• UNOH and Madonna each took six corner kicks.

Madonna hosts Cornerstone University (Mich.) at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22nd. It will be Senior Day at the Madonna Athletic Complex.
