LIVONIA, Mich.  - The Madonna University women's soccer program picked up a 2-0 Senior Day victory over Cornerstone University on Saturday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders celebrated their Seniors on Saturday afternoon and celebrated with a 2-0 victory over Cornerstone on Saturday. The girls struggled to find opportunities throughout the first half and found themselves in a 0-0 tie heading into halftime. But the Crusaders would heat up on offense and would score their first goal in the 61st minute from Abby Werthemen for her 9th goal of the year. Then in the 75th minute after a penalty in the box from Cornerstone, Karina Arnold would find the back of the net on a penalty kick for her first goal of the year giving the Crusaders a 2-0 lead. The Crusaders defense would hold strong today, only allowing two shots from Cornerstone all game and would send the Seniors out with a 2-0 victory on Senior day.
   
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• The Crusaders outshot the Golden Eagles 18-2, with the shots in the second half bein 13-1 in favor of Madonna
• Madonna had 8 corners to Cornerstone's 0.

Madonna will be back at home for their last regular season home match against Indiana Tech at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26th.
