Women's Soccer suffers setback against Saints

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –  The Madonna University's Women's Soccer Team suffered a tough 5-1 loss against No. 16 ranked Aquinas College on Saturday evening in Grand Rapids, Michigan 

HOW IT HAPPENED

Aquinas opened the scoring early with a goal in the seventh minute. Later in the half the host Saints scored in the 25th minute, before taking a 3-0 lead in the 33rd minute. 

Madonna got on the board in the 43rd minute when Vitoria Sia found the back of the net off an assist by Natalie Hawkins. 

The Crusaders were unable to get any closer however as the Saints added two more goals in the second half en route to the win.

  • Aquinas outshot the Crusaders 19-8
  • Brooke Bruletti had 8 saves on the day 
UP NEXT
The Crusaders will be back at the MAC on Wednesday October 5th when they take on  Lourdes University. Kickoff is set for 3:00 pm.
