SPRING ARBOR, Mich.-- Madonna University's Men's Soccer program posted a 3-0 opening match victory over Spring Arbor University (Mich.) on Wednesday night at the Cougar Soccer Complex. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Cougars were the ones who shot out of the gate early, getting a few shots in that were saved by Youssou Ouendeno to halt the SAU offensive efforts early on. It wasn't until the 41:27 mark that Alexander Zaleczny found the back of the net with an assist by Ryota Nakajima for the 1-0 halftime lead. 

Coming out of the half, Spring Arbor let one roll past in their own net as Madonna was credited with the Cougars' mistake for a 2-0 advantage at the 51:44 mark. It wasn't until Issei Ito's solo goal at 61:30 that another Crusader made the stat sheet for the 3-0 win.

Madonna will stay put for the home opener at the Madonna Athletic Complex on Saturday, September 4 at 2:00 p.m. against Goshen.
